Transfer of planning powers from South Bank Corporation to Brisbane City Council
On 1 July 2013, South Bank Corporation’s Parklands management responsibilities were transferred to Brisbane City Council. From this date, all operational services (including water, maintenance, electrical and horticulture) became the responsibility of Council, while all marketing services for the Parklands (including events, communications, creative and digital) became the responsibility of Brisbane Marketing, a wholly owned subsidiary of Council.
South Bank Corporation continues to be responsible for the precinct’s commercial assets including the tenancies and underground car park.
