Margaret de Wit had a 19-year career as a Councillor with Brisbane City Council. During that time she undertook the roles of Chair of Infrastructure, Chair of Public and Active Transport and Chairman of Council. In 2012, she was the first woman elected as President of the Local Government Association of Queensland. Margaret is a member of the Queensland Reconstruction Authority Board and is a Graduate of the Institute of Company Directors. She has been actively involved in many local community organisations for many years, and is a member of Kenmore Rotary and a Warden of the Anglican Church.
