TRANSFER OF PLANNING POWERS FROM SOUTH BANK CORPORATION TO BRISBANE CITY COUNCIL

In early 2013, a legislative amendment to change the South Bank Corporation Act 1989 (the Act) was passed in Queensland State Parliament that made Brisbane City Council responsible for administering development and signage approvals within the South Bank precinct.

The Approved Development Plan (ADP), which is the statutory planning instrument, governs development throughout the South Bank precinct.

Responsibility for changes to the ADP remains with the Queensland Government acting on the advice of South Bank Corporation.
