Rydges Boulevard Redevelopment

The Rydges building (located on the corner of Glenelg and Grey Streets) underwent refurbishment of the ground floor and boulevard levels in 2012.

Works included:

• An extension of the boulevard level towards the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) to establish 4 new function facilities
• A new podium level swimming pool
• A new ground floor retail space fronting Grey Street, refurbishment of the existing loading dock and screening of the Rydges car park ramp and water tank
• General improvements (including landscaping) to the Glenelg and Grey Street facades to the top of the podium.

The Rydges boulevard redevelopment has re-activated this prominent corner site strengthening the physical connection between the northern and southern parts of Grey Street. It has also improved connectivity at street level between the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre and the ABC radio and television studios.
