South Bank Corporation has engaged engineering and design consultants, Mott MacDonald, along with engagement and communications consultants, The Comms Team to help undertake preliminary design investigations for a bi-directional bikeway and new public realm on Grey Street.
Stakeholder feedback will inform the draft preliminary design for the bikeway, which is planned for release to the public for consultation in early 2024.
This design project supports the long-term master plan vision idea for Grey Street to make cycling and walking safer, slow traffic and make it Australia’s ‘coolest’ and most vibrant sub-tropical street. It also supports the Corporation’s continued commitment to creating a more active community at South Bank with improved travel connections.
The design project, which is for a preliminary design only and not a committed project, is jointly funded by the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
