Streets Beach maintenance works

Streets Beach will continue to stay closed while we undertake further investigations into water loss and deliver additional maintenance works.

While we hoped to reopen the much-loved lagoon by mid-June, we’re needing some extra time to address continuing water loss.

Streets Beach is more than 30 years old and welcomes hundreds of thousands of swimmers each year. Just like any other pool, regular works are needed to keep everything running smoothly.

We love seeing people make the most of Brisbane’s sunshine in the water and on the sand, so our team works hard to ensure Streets Beach is open for as much of the year as possible.

As Streets Beach continues to age, you may see us giving the lagoon some extra attention and care at times, which could require more frequent and longer closures.

Our Boat Pool and Aquativity water play area will continue to stay open during this time for visitors to make a splash.

The extended closure of Streets Beach will allow our team to further assess the condition of key infrastructure, undertake repairs and identify the next steps. These assessments will help us get a clearer picture of when Streets Beach will reopen. We’ll keep you updated as we find out more.

Thank you for your ongoing patience while our team maintains South Bank.
